Just a Few of the...Interesting Things We've Seen so Far:)

What does this look like to you?

   Hmmm, maybe HUMAN HAIR!!!

Okay, I know it's just hair and not even attached to a scalp but still a little freaky to wake-up to this outside your room. (Who knows what they are doing while you slumber...*Shudder*)

Then upon my absolute joy to find what us Americans call a Supermarket, I realize that not everything is as it "should" be.

...It's just a bit more "hands-on" than I'm used to...

Definitely had the "fishy" smell going on:(

Not exactly a lucky rabbit's foot.

Duck anyone?

Yay for frozen vegetables:)

Rice, rice and more rice!

I think these are hearts...?

Haven't tried the Fish Head soup...yet:)

This guy's actually catching the fish himself and as he was carrying it past me it jumped out onto the floor! (One of the few times I've ever squeaked out loud.) He just looked at me and put the fish back in the net.

But the find that makes it all worth it...

KOOSH BALL SHOES!!!

Haircut

It was too hot and I had to walk around too much, so I gave in to a haircut.
Here I am pre-haircut

Here's asian Lars!
Maybe a pic when I'm less sweaty will better showcase it, hm?

The Flight

So, as I sit here watching an intense match of ping pong on TV, I've decided to do our first blog post from China.  After an uncomfortable flight from Milwaukee to LA (mostly sleeping), we met up with Chris and Laura Miller and Aaron and Crystal King.  We had burritos (wise choice?) for lunch and then boarded our trans-pacific flight.
Here's a nice little note letting us know that even though we slept through the first meal, we can request it at anytime (Spring never got around to it and they took it down when they served the next meal).
Here I am enjoying my delicious, asian meal.

This is what the bathroom looked like

While Spring was gallivanting in the restroom, I was doing one of two things

The inflight movies were X2 and then a bunch of Korean films.  Spring acquired a new addiction to Dr. Mario.  However, the highlight of the flight was the "Sunshine Calisthetics" film that took you through the motions of arm slapping and neck stretching to overcome travel stiffness.  The best part was when the polo-shirt clad demonstrators broke into freeform dance at the end, for who knows what reason.

Barbie reminds us that you are beautiful when you believe in yourself (or have a credit card)

Lots of luggage, it barely fit in the taxi

We finally made it to our hotel (金一村)and Spring's poor ankles were so swollen!
What a trip!
